Hi. Think about the location carefully allowing for proximity to existing pipe work, Also try and locate it on an outside wall as the standard flue kits are a lot cheaper than a vertical flue ect. The cost will vary from job to job. I assume the existing boiler isn’t a combi, in that case, it is likely that the installer will need to run a new gas pipe to the new boiler. You’ll also need a condense pipe run and suitably terminated. Flueing options and costs will change depending on boiler location. There’s no way to get a price that will be even close to accurate without having an engineer visit. As for cutting costs, there isn’t much you can do... but something that goes a long way with me is if a customer makes sure all working areas are clear and clean. If you make it clear at the quoting stage that this will be the case, the engineer MIGHT be a little kinder with his pricing.
