Plug socket for boiler

Posted by Deborah Barratt, on
I have just had a new boiler fitter and the engineer has recommended having the plug socket that it is wired into checked as it is above the sink. The socket hasn't been moved and it is the same place as it was when the old boiler was fitted. Is it worth getting it checked?

Hi Deborah a fused spur will be what the boiler needs and it will have to be 300mm away from the drainer or sink bowl. So it complies with regulations.

Hi Deborah Yes you need to get it moved, the regs do no allow for a socket to sit above a sink as it is considered a serious electrical hazard Hope this helps
