Can you tell if i hav a salamander s flange fitted without removing it from the hot tank? its stamped cr and s on the sides

Hi, I have an adey magnaclean filter (red bottom, black top). I have the filter accessory to open the top and have bled valve but can’t get it open. I’ve turned on the boiler the turner it off to try and loosen it but no go. It’s stuck and I don’t want to force it in case I break it. Any advice? It was already installed when I moved in.

40 year old system needs flushing do I use Fernox 3 or Fernox 5? Many Thanks

Thankyou for viewing this job post. This unfurnished 3 bedroom semi-detached property in Halifax, Shelf, HX3, requires the current Ideal HE24 boiler replacing. Id preferable like a 28w or 30w combi-boiler providing and installing. I believe the copper pipes currently supplying the central heating system are 22mm. Id like approximately 12 radiators replacing. I can provide the radiators. PLEASE NOTE* The flooring will be removed for clear access to pipework, both upstairs and downstairs. The pipework must be hidden behind the radiators rather than visible through the floors. Pipework must be copper. I have already been quoted £2200 for this job from a company called "Basi Plumbers" in Bradford. A very reputable company. Basi have quoted me £2200 for the following: Vaillant pro 30 Boiler, Nest System (for mobile app control) A system Filter, A Wireless programmer, A Flush System, Swapping 12 radiators and valves with 10 YEAR WARRANTY (I supply the radiators). I want a cheaper quote as many other specialists have quoted me cheaper for the same job, however I want to use a rated person from the Rated People website. Nobody is living at the property, so access will be clear and unobstructed. Happy Days :)

While moving items in my loft I noticed that one of two pipes which go outside had come away from the tank. I don't know where this needs to be re-located. The other pipe, at the bottom is still in place

I want a shower pump fitted my bath and hot and cold water tanks are on the same floor level

Shower is new, good quality, pressure good, but hot water runs out after 6 minutes each time. Why? Any suggestions?

I live in sheltered accomadation my radiators in each room are cold all over. Every other flats in the building radiators are working fine.

When you install a new boiler and heating system throughout someone's house, would you explain how to use it or expect them to just read the manual?

Hot water tank system with Valiant boiler over 20 years old. Almost definitely a valve problem but is this costing more than if the heating didn't come on? Have hot water on timer and the radiators come on even with heating off. Is this faulty valve costing us energy. We are heating the water anyway so with heating on is the boiler working harder or not please?

I have a single valve shower and i am getting no hot water, but i am getting hot water to my sink in the same bathroom. could it be the valve is not working properly?

What should I do? Accept or just refuse as my tradesmen has rate zero on the website, he has gas safe certification. .? Should I wait for a tradesmen calling me after post a job or I should check rate of the tradesmen and try to get a quote from him?

I have recently bought a house and the water tastes almost mouldy! There is no discolouration or bits floating in it and my boyfriend can’t taste it but I can and I can’t drink it anymore! I tried to buy a filter that goes on the end of the tap but it wouldn’t fit. Could it be the pipes or maybe the tap itself? Any help would be amazing! I really don’t want to spend out on getting all new pipes for the house if I don’t need to!

Hello, I have a wall in my home up the stairs and in the upstairs landing that I want to knock down and replace with a bannister and also to reshap the bathroom. The wall has a light switch down stairs which would need to be taken out. Would a handyman be able to do this? Or do I need a qualified electrician? There is also a radiator which will need moving when the bathroom is reshaped do I need a plumber or can a handyman do this? Thanks

I have a water leak. Water turned off at stopcock. Found disconnected plastic pipe behind bathroom wall. Plastic/pvc? pipe has disconnected from metal joint. How do I fix together so that water pressure does not separate them again.

We have a leak from our shower which has gradually come through to the ceiling below. I think it is the sealant, but maybe a leak elsewhere - behind tap perhaps. Should I ask a tiler or a plumber?

I'm considering buying a house and the boiler is currently located between two tiny bathrooms on the 1st floor. I'd like to make one big bathroom and therefore the boiler would need to be relocated. I'll be installing a new kitchen/utility room downstairs so I'd like to relocate the boiler to there. Could anyone advise of a ballpark cost for relocating a boiler? It's a massive conventional boiler which is 11 years old so I'd probably opt to change it to a combi. thank you
