My only criticism is that I was not contacted when the old ceiling was removed and more work was required to get a professional finish to the job. As a result I am having to bring in another plasterer to make the ceiling and wall meet!

Changing this review. I would not use them again. Got them back for a 2nd job. Started 1 week late which was due to sickness - fine. Spent first 3 days working no more than a few hours a day putting plastic down. 5th day started painting. Colour matched rather than using the brand agreed to. Only did one coat of paint on all surfaces. After only a couple of months this js now chipping away at the slightest touch. No prep work on old surfaces, one coat of paint rather than 2 or 3, didn’t use brand I picked.

Although I didn't have the job done in the end (as the council had sorted the pipes whilst I applied for help) I just wanted to say that I did get a very quick reply, from Tom and he had been willing to come the very next day and give me a quote. Even though I explained it was a small job and as I'm disabled he'd have to do all the measuring up. He was still willing to come and at a time to suit me, so he deserves a few stars for helpfulness. Also for putting up with me canceling the job on the day after having second thoughts. I was not aware he'd had to pay rated people for my details. Which I think should be that they only pay if they get work! So thank you for your efforts. I obviously can't really comment on the quality of their work or their value but I give full marks for reliability for the quick call and offer to come the next morning to see the job. I will certainly be keeping their number for any work I need in the future.

ZELJKO BURGER (known as Charlie) did an amazing job of replacing a roof on our orangery from start to finish. We were quoted an extremely competitive price (Charlies quote was almost half of that quoted by a well-known competitor) and once we had accepted his quote, we were amazed at how quickly work began. It was carried out with a minimum of fuss and disruption. Charlie has transformed what was once a cold, unusable room into a functioning extension to out home. I definitely recommend him.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS My first mistake was to ignore an earlier scathing review. I only required tiling, all tanking was completed in advance, so decided to overlook the questionable plumbing/electrical feedback in a previous review. My experiences and the behaviour described appear to be entirely consistent though. Alex completed the tiling of the wet room to a poor level – he was unable to deliver a level tiled surface in a number of areas despite a fully Marmoxed room to work with. The toilet could not be fitted to the frame as the tiling was so inaccurate there was an enormous amount of rocking. The most serious problem was his inability to lay a level floor, critical in a wet room, and we have a number of areas of pooling. Having been given a perfectly level tile friendly Hardibacker surface to start with this is inexcusable. He agreed to return and rectify these faults, came back, smashed out several tiles on the walls and the floor then disappeared never to be seen again. At the time he claimed he needed to go and pick up some tile adhesive which seemed reasonable. A few minutes after he left I noticed he had taken his tile cutter which of course he would have needed on his return. This set alarm bells ringing. I looked at the wet room more carefully and knew that was going to be the last I would see of him. When removing the tiles from the floor he had damaged the under-floor heating cables. He made a clumsy effort to disguise the fact with some tape before his exit. After a couple of hours I received a text message claiming that he had been involved in an accident and that he would be in touch. After several days of ignored calls and messages I sent an email and received a reply claiming that his phone had been stolen and this was the reason his unresponsiveness. He promised to come the following Friday to finish the job. Needless to say he failed to show up, ignored calls, text messages and emails throughout the day. I knew he was in possession of his phone and proved the fact by getting my partner to call from a number he would not recognise. She was promised a call back by his partner – of course it never came.

The quote was provided quickly and the work carried out on the arranged day. After giving time for the floor to harden I found it was very uneven and sloped in two directions. I have had to correct it by applying a floor screed. Also some rubbish was left in the rear access passage behind the houses. It was agreed that it would pick it up but it wasn’t so I had to remove it so it didn’t obstruct the alley way for my neighbours.

I had initially been given a reasonable quote for the work required. After the work had started, they offered to build a new wetroom and install a new megaflow tank. Halfway through the job, he said the cost had increased and wanted to charge me 50% more. I was furious as I had my budget set already. I disagreed and had several arguments, where Anthony Baafi was being extremely unreasonable. In the end I had to pay a bit more, as I just wanted to get the work finished. I do not recommend them to anyone!

AVOID Adil is a smooth talker who hasn't got a clue about work in the industry. Employed to refurbish a full house. A SUMMARY of issues follows. 1 - Plastering done is uneven. 2 - Did not allow plaster to dry before painting walls so already peeling off. 3 - Found number of areas where holes had been left, and had these not been pointed out would have been left. 4 - Wood not sanded before painting, incl. new skirting boards. 5 - Threats when I refused to pay!

They were not unqualified. They met every regulation in the book. You first said the wires needed to be in conduit, but when I had this checked, you then accepted that this was not the case. You said the 'regulation had changed' but conduit was never a legal requirement, just something done for practicality. The electricity was working fine for 3 days before you came and started working. This is nothing personal just bad trademanship, which I have a moral duty to highlight to others.
