New to Rated People, but a family trade for generations; the Sykes Brothers consists of William and Finlay Sykes, bricklayers following in the footsteps of their father, Tony Sykes, and grandfather, Bill Sykes - both life-long bricklayers and masters of the trade. Being raised around the industry from a young age, we have both had exposure to bricklaying and building from childhood, from our father building our family home, to learning the trade when we were of age. Now, as qualified bricklayers, we have a wide range of construction knowledge and ability that is complimented by our professionalism and no-corners-cut approach to our work. Hi, My name is Paul. I have recently set up our family run business in property services after 30 years’ experience in the trade of carpentry and joinery. As a service we aim to be professional, reliable, honest, and flexible. We are fully insured. I started my career as a bench joiner, making and fitting all kinds of joinery including, doors and windows, conservatories, shop fittings, and pub bars. Some highlights during this time were building display cabinets for Harrods, and the Ritz hotel, and bookcases for the British library. I moved onto making and installing high specification kitchens, before taking the leap into self-employment. During subcontracting for others, I have increased my knowledge and skills in new builds, residential and commercial building improvements. Some highlights from the last few years, have been to work on the roofing of the admissions centre at Windsor Castle, fitting oak doors and frames at Eton college, and seating stands for a new opera house.
