Shane arrived on time, completed the job to our satisfaction sooner and in less time than he first estimated and it looks good. He was polite and listened carefully to what we needed and discussed the project in detail. He cleaned up well after himself. We needed some buttresses built to support a garden wall. Fred was able to provide very practical help and advice which we were more than happy to act upon. I had a lot of work done today - curtain rails put up, a rather drastic painting and filling in job to be done in the main room where an old fashioned radiator had been taken out, etc. The painting job was of real concern to me as this is a newly refurbished flat with no clue left as to what shade was used on the walls, but the match is faultless. My new doors were carefully positioned and due to the quality build, only some planing of surfaces was needed for wardrobe doors. . He was able to come in desired week, as other jobs had gone well and was here for 6 hours of continuous work. The only trace of his presence were some wood shavings and slivers of wood in the communal yard, where much of the work was done. The Woodyard said this was the going rate. It may require the Council to remove old doors as private sector not showing interest so far.
