Spas quoted for a complete kitchen and bathroom refurb plus some floor sanding and decorating. His quote was very competitive and he said it would take 2 weeks. Unfortunately it took 5 weeks, the plumbing had to be re-done as it caused flooding in the kitchen and the bathroom tiling was bodged. Whilst Spas was very likeable and we amicably agreed a settlement, I think he was naive and also chose to take short cuts at my expense when he realised the job was bigger than he thought.

Perfect - is all I can say. Gave me a quote as part of an insurance claim. They are really diligent; hard working and actually did more than I expected them to do. They quoted 5 to 7 days to do the work but it suited us all for them to spend a couple of hours longer than normal to get the work done in 5 days rather than come back after the weekend. I'm thrilled. I'm hoping they'll come back again if/when I have more work for them. They'd be most welcome and I'd be assured of a great job.

He was very good at the job and finished on time etc. The one thing I found slightly annoying was the urgency to finish the job and get the money, ie insisting that he paints the fence even though it was forecast to almost certainly rain that day and receiving multiple calls from his wife etc to our pressure. Overall though I am pleased with the end result and will use him again if given a chance

DF decorating e Building were hired to refurbish our kitchen (selection based on builder’s portfolio presented to us and after checking references). We are very disappointed and unhappy with the quality of work done by them. They were unable to rectify mistakes; some of them caused permanent damage to the kitchen units and appliances. Would not recommend, was inconsiderate, turned up at my home late at night twice unexpectedly. Did not paint neatly - didn’t use frog tape I provided - painted into my ceiling and skirting boards. Ruined my original fireplace by splashing paint on it. Left my home dirty with all the rubbish left behind. Did not have basic tools that a professional tradesperson would usually have - used my new hoover and left paint all over it and used it to hoover up wallpaper which made it jam.

I am very disappointed with the service received from SKK construction. Whilst Sean did come and give us a reasonable quote, he failed to deliver! He cancelled our first appointment 15 minutes before the set time, but rearranged another date for the following week. The second time he did not arrive and failed to respond to texts. This is an appalling service- if a trades person does not want a job, they should just say they are not interested. His failure to turn up has ruined plans for 2 weekends .

We had a small electrical job - repair of an illuminated mirror. James Hutchins was enthusiastic enough at first. He diagnosed the problem, claimed to have sourced spare parts and then requested £67 to pay for them. I gave him £80. That was six weeks ago and I haven't seen him since!!

I have now had to gut out the bathroom due to major damp issues and flooding as Lloyd used normal plasterboards (not waterproof) in the bathroom which were disintegrating in addition to the tiles falling off. The leaks came from his pipework from the toilet/basin/shower and most importantly, he fitted an isolation switch for the electric shower INSIDE the bathroom which is against regulations and did not create a separate shower circuit to the RCD box with its own MCB. Fortunate to have no fatalities!
