The previous review was done under duress with Billy standing over me. The truth is, he disappears for considerable lengths of time (days), leaves equipment behind so you can't hire anyone else, switches his phone off so you can't contact him during this time and has the attitude of a bully. He removed our toilet to fix a blocked pipe but then left it so it wasn't fixed back to the floor properly and moved around, when we were in the process of selling our flat, with surveyors coming round. Not recommended.

We have to get another plumber in to fix the radiator, He had fitted it to high and did say afterwards it was the only way to do it. If we had known that before we would not have had the work done. However another plumber says it can be sorted so will get him to do it. In fairness Roger did apologise for not informing us and did accept a reduced invoice payment.

George responded quickly to my request, gave a very reasonable quote, did a really quite tricky and complicated job above a conservatory, to fix cracks in the pebbledash of an external wall, and seal all around the windows. A fortnight later he re-plastered internally. George gives the impression of being somewhat chaotic! But he is extremely experienced, knows what he is doing, and actually did a very good job. Both the guys had good knowledge of what was required but they rushed the job and I had to have them back to make good. They did this with no problems and even reduced the price for the inconvenience. I would use them again but would make sure not to pay until I was satisfied with the work.

I didn't have the work done. They came across as unprofessional and pushy. I can't coment on the quality of the work but I can coment on the quote process. Just verbal price. When I pushed for an email quote I just got the price again and little else. Nothing about what they were going to do as part of the job. I expect better. The last few tradesmen I have had on Rated have been excellent full written quotes and professional from the start. These guys even had to ask if they could borrow a tape measure!

Bought parts which did not reliably fix the problem boiler. In the end we had to call Bosch to fix it. Bosch charged us the same amount it Mayson charged us for callout and parts so we should have gone straight to Bosch in the first place.

Original work in painting walls & ceiling of bedroom was good & we would have given five stars in each category. However, after finishing & being paid in full, the following evening we found a broken blind slat. The reply to my email about this said "I'll pop in tonight on the way home for you". As it was a 'no show', I sent an email saying "As you didn't come this evening, what's the situation?". There has been no response to this and this has affected our ratings in all categories.

I could not recommend Chris to anyone. He consistantly made basic errors. He originally estimated a 5 day period to completion, but actually took an entire month. He damaged the bath, the vanity unit, the wall lights, the door, the outside render and the landing carpet! Our house was frequently left in an unacceptable condition at the end of day. The whole process was very stressful and we will now have to have the floor relayed due to leaking pipes which he installed.

I was quoted £230 for a job that the plumber hadn't even seen. 'confidently' I had chosen £250 on the budget option on the site do clearly the plumber was going for the maximum charge! I felt very angry by that and was proved correct when I had the work done by a reputable plumber for £60 all inclusive! Very poor of PB to try and pull a fast one!
