Hi, My name is Paul. I have recently set up our family run business in property services after 30 years’ experience in the trade of carpentry and joinery. As a service we aim to be professional, reliable, honest, and flexible. We are fully insured. I started my career as a bench joiner, making and fitting all kinds of joinery including, doors and windows, conservatories, shop fittings, and pub bars. Some highlights during this time were building display cabinets for Harrods, and the Ritz hotel, and bookcases for the British library. I moved onto making and installing high specification kitchens, before taking the leap into self-employment. During subcontracting for others, I have increased my knowledge and skills in new builds, residential and commercial building improvements. Some highlights from the last few years, have been to work on the roofing of the admissions centre at Windsor Castle, fitting oak doors and frames at Eton college, and seating stands for a new opera house. If you're looking for a carpenter then look no further! Paul is the rare combination of skillful, reliable and reasonably priced. He's also a genuinely nice guy. No job is too big or small. Paul fitted our engineered wooden floor and he did such a good job we had no hesitation in re-booking him to box in some pipes and hang a door. I can't recommend Paul enough and if we need any further work we will go straight back to him.

On on build are a general building company based in the Nottingham and surrounding areas. We provide various services including underfloor heating and floor sreeeding, bricklaying, driveways, turfing,fencing, patios, roofing and driveway cleaning and resealing. PL insured and cscs cpcs certified. Over the last 3 years i have been working on train sidings refurbishment in manchester and new build house and been on checkatrade, but back on rated people again now.

This was a two-stage project. The proprietor was keen to keep me informed with progress, issues deadlines etc and as such I always felt I was an integral part of the project. The standard of finish cannot be faulted with highly professional and friendly workmen being utilised for the work. Any post-build snags were quickly dealt with no quibble. Yet another triumph for the two Gary's! In less than two days they have transformed a front garden I was ashamed of to one I can be proud of and that people comment on. An unwieldy hedge was quickly removed and taken away, ditto the untidy gravel and replaced with very neat and attractive blocks. We found Darren a very reliable, professional and hardworking tradesman. The job of removing an old damp Victorian floor and relaying with concrete ready for tiling, was completed in good time and within budget despite unexpected problems with the foundations. He salvaged as many old tiles as possible to reuse and he gave us good advice and information when necessary. The site was left clean and tidy and all materials removed. Altogether an excellent job. Not worth 5 star rating, in my opinion. Cancelled appointment 30 minutes before due time. Came out twice, first time to take a look, second time to bring sample. Said he would get back to with price with expected start next week. Heard nothing, he finally answered one of my texts saying didn't reply as materials had gone up and the job would cost another £1000. Did not even have the courtesy of letting me decide if it was too much to pay or to choose something less expensive. Very disappointed.
