We inspected at least 6 properties that Zal Builders worked on and we were impresses with the standard of work we saw. These two builders are very competent at their skill; they are neat and clean and very professional. The structure of the work they completed is very sturdy and the standard of the decorations is of a very high specification. They offered us valuable advice about materials and designs. Spas quoted for a complete kitchen and bathroom refurb plus some floor sanding and decorating. His quote was very competitive and he said it would take 2 weeks. Unfortunately it took 5 weeks, the plumbing had to be re-done as it caused flooding in the kitchen and the bathroom tiling was bodged. Whilst Spas was very likeable and we amicably agreed a settlement, I think he was naive and also chose to take short cuts at my expense when he realised the job was bigger than he thought.

Perfect - is all I can say. Gave me a quote as part of an insurance claim. They are really diligent; hard working and actually did more than I expected them to do. They quoted 5 to 7 days to do the work but it suited us all for them to spend a couple of hours longer than normal to get the work done in 5 days rather than come back after the weekend. I'm thrilled. I'm hoping they'll come back again if/when I have more work for them. They'd be most welcome and I'd be assured of a great job.

We have brought in a professional builder and he has diagnosed that the wrong materials for a wetroom was used and substandard at that. We now have to remove the new tiles and start again. This means we need to purchase more tiles and more materials and re do the work done.

Workmen friendly and the work they carried out was to a reasonable standard. BUT they let themselves down when it came to getting them back to finish the job as bad weather prevented them from completing. I had to do all the chasing and they made excuses why they couldn’t return and now they aren’t responding to either text or email. Should have realised when they wanted payment for the work carried out on day 1 - in hindsight I don’t think they ever intended on returning.

I am very disappointed with the service received from SKK construction. Whilst Sean did come and give us a reasonable quote, he failed to deliver! He cancelled our first appointment 15 minutes before the set time, but rearranged another date for the following week. The second time he did not arrive and failed to respond to texts. This is an appalling service- if a trades person does not want a job, they should just say they are not interested. His failure to turn up has ruined plans for 2 weekends .

I was very pleased with punctuality and value for money. However, one of the jobs quoted and paid for i.e. fixing the toilet has not been done properly and is as bad as before he looked at it and my calls have been ignored for 3 weeks to rectify this. also a crack in a wall keeps reappearing and there was red paint on a cream carpet which was not brought to my attention and a professional carpet cleaner could not remove.

They were not unqualified. They met every regulation in the book. You first said the wires needed to be in conduit, but when I had this checked, you then accepted that this was not the case. You said the 'regulation had changed' but conduit was never a legal requirement, just something done for practicality. The electricity was working fine for 3 days before you came and started working. This is nothing personal just bad trademanship, which I have a moral duty to highlight to others.
