Roof plate too high Damp in new dining room Leaking shower enclosure Cheap plasterboard used in shower and not board quoted for Plastering up to 35mm out when spirit level put against wall Wrong gutters used Reveals not square Poor quality brickwork French doors poorly fitted Untidy The list is endless and has resulted in contract termination and a new builder doing the job properly.

This was one of those jobs that had various problems from the start. Having said that SMS did put them all right without complaint. The quote given for the clearing of the site AND the complete redesign was excellent. The original deadline was missed by a long way primarily due to misjudging the anomalies of the site (eg the underlying concrete was a lot thicker than anticipated). SMS were slow in clearing the site after the work was done - it took almost three weeks before the last of the rubble and debris were moved. Overall, I am pleased with the work done and the final result and would be prepared to use them again.

I wouldn't? recommend this firm as they promise to give you a disc containing still and moving pictures of your drains but they don't appear to know how to operate their camera. Consequently I only received a disc containing corrupted files, and when they re-took images of my drains i did not receive a file at all. And when I queried if a section of the relined drains was properly sealed they failed to return to my house. I recommend anyone not to part with any money until completely satisfied.

George Bell came to work on some damp related issues in my flat in feb. since having completed the works the problems which first occurred have turned worse and George has been unwilling to get back in contact with me, despite chasing him for 5 months which only reaffirms that the job was poorly undertaken. The company main reception also seems to be a virtual reception so you can never speak with anyone helpful

Overall a really nice person but whilst the pointing work was ok, the rest of the work was a bit below atandard. My thatcher came to do the byannual inspection and was critical of the concreting and flashing particularly as the lead flashing had been used under the concrete not around the chimney as expected. He also though the price was very expensive for the work as the flashings had not been done properly. However, had the flashing been done correctly the price would have been a competetive one

I'll start with a positive - quality of build was good. Negatives, was told 2 weeks - 5 months later still not completed (3m x 1m shed and some of it was already in place) and had to get another company to finish it at more expense. Was charged for time in sourcing materials, was told it could be completed within my budget when I increased it by £500 and now he is saying I still owe him more money. Took/disposed of quarry tiles I said I wanted. I wont be using him again

Tiled our kitchen floor and made a disgusting job of it. Floor not even, corners sticking up, uneven gaps between tiles, used all the tiles but didn't do under cooker and dishwasher as asked and measured for. Will not return to sort out the job, they've promised to come sort it twice and both times haven't showed up, now won't reply to our messages. Would've been happier putting he money down the toilet!

After being conned I used this site for my job and Martin came round and with with a very competitive quote and no upfront payments i hired him and have had no regrets his enthusiasm, communication and visions for improving my original extension plans and an extra job in the house which he did working long days while me and my wife were away on holiday so we didn't have to put up with the building work was exceptional like the house was when we returned!
