Our quote was higher than others as we quoted to coat the stairs three times with a high quality varnish because they were in such a bad way, however the customer did not want to pay for this so we kindly matched the other quote, and this was only to put one coat of mid range varnish on. As with all previously painted low grade pine to achieve a good even finish you need to build on the layers and this customer did not want to pay for this. On finishing this job we had advised the customer that additional coats were needed and offered to do them at a reduced price. The flooring as mentioned by the customer is good and we also matched a lower quote for this.

Initially I was only going to have Decking done in my garden. After Andrew came and saw my garden he gave me a different idea and provided with me a scatch of paving and deck to transform my garden into some thing different. After he has done this it looks so nice. He transformed my garden completely. He is a very hard working gentleman. Gyorgy arrived on time each day, worked for as long as he could - sometimes paint needed to dry and there was nothing else he could do, so he left after clearing up. The standard of workmanship was good and the price was very reasonable. The job took slightly longer than he expected but that was due to the extremely rough walls that needed lining before they would give an acceptable standard of finish when painted. Overall, very happy with the work done.

There was a slight problem with the lock, and they duly reported it to Louis Harbison. He came today to replace it but the barrel of the lock seems ok now. James did a really good job for the house we’d just bought. The floors were all painted and really ugly, and he sanded them back to the wood and left them looking really nice. He even returned free of charge to fix a problem of “grain raising” which had left the boards a bit rough to the touch and occurred a few days after he’d finished, due to moisture in the space. He was friendly, considerate and empathic, a really pleasant guy to have around and to be involved in our renovation project.
