Tony was the only tradesman to reply,he sent a picture and a quote via text which was fine but told him I would get back to I'm when I had other quotes. I contacted him today to say I didn't want a upvc door I preferred wood and needed new frame so he said he would call this afternoon to have a look at the job as he was in the area but then he messaged back to say he had to go to another appointment and hoped I would get the job with another tradesman which were both checkatrade so will use them

Job didn't last long, started leaking again when it rained heavy. wasted money. Another company looked at the chimney and flat roof and politely described the job as done by cons, using this site to get quick cash from urgent jobs, which if not done professionally costs more in the long run. The banter is part of the deception.

PB installed a new Velux window where an old skylight had been positioned. The job turned out to be more complicated than first anticipated. However, PBs staff stayed as long as the task took (working into the dark and coming back the next day) and charged no extra. They were punctual, polite, friendly, and professional and the job was reasonably priced.

I was a little sceptical using the Rated People website. But we used Robin to fit a laminate floor in our kitchen and the experience was excellent. Robin gave us a very competitive price and he did a very professional job. He was very polite and the floor was fitted to a very high standard. 1.5 hrs late. I was out having waited for him as long as I could. My mother's carer let him in, he spent less than 10mins in house, then went away for about 20 mins. He came back, fitted 2 batteries in the mains alarms. He then tried to charge me £220 after repeatedly assuring me that it would cost < £100 before I hired him. He wanted 3 hours call out fee @£70/hr then £10 for the batteries. I asked why 3 hrs call out when he had spent less than 20min in the house he said 2 hours travel!
