Combi Boiler flow rate

Posted by Alison Binalle, on
Can the flow rate on a combi boiler be reduced? I've just had a new boiler installed and its working great. However my shower drain cant cope with the increased water volume and its flooding out of the shower enclosure across the bathroom floor. I've checked that the drain is clear and have removed the trap to try and drain the excess water quicker. The flow rate on the taps seems ok, its just the shower causing me problems.

Hi Alison. It's possible to reduce the flow rate from a combi, but the boiler will only reduce the hot. In order to balance the supply you'd have to recuce It as The cold main enters the building. Ultimately however, it sounds very much like your issue is with the shower drainage. Maybe it flows slightly uphill when exiting the trap? This is what I would focus on first. I hope this helps.
